There’s nothing worse than being in the company of a complainer. It is estimated that the average person complains 15-30 times a day. It’s an unproductive activity and makes you a person that others may not want to be around. Stop and make this year the year of no complaining. How? Here are some tips… Action, Acceptance, Attitude. Ahh… Aliteration…don’t your love it? Action… if it is something you can remedy… fix it, dear Henry! Acceptance… if it is something you can not change…accept it. Attitude… reframe how you are perceiving it.
2. Negative thinking
Thoughts create feelings. To put it simply, if you allow yourself to have negative thoughts, you’re going to feel bad. The great news is you have control over your thinking so why not choose to have positive thoughts and feel awesome?!
3. People judging
How you think of others is usually a reflection of how you’re feeling about yourself. Judging others is a form of comparing which can make you miserable. You have no idea what the other person’s journey or struggles are, so instead of focusing on the things you dislike about others, try to come up with something you like about them. It’s actually more enjoyable to like people than to dislike, despise, hate, etc. Try it..your world will change.
4. Unconscious eating
Stop standing in the kitchen shoveling unknown portion sizes in to your mouth (yes, I’ve been guilty of it). If you put the portion on a plate, and take it to the table, you won’t have to worry about consuming too many calories.
5. Processed foods
Stop eating crap. Seriously. No, really..seriously. In pain? Depressed? Anxious? Stomach problems? You probably feel awful because of what you’re eating. Try to eat real food for two weeks and let us know how you feel. Many people think they can’t do it or don’t want to try. If they knew the difference it would make, everyone would eat well and the processed food companies would be out of business.
6. Ruminating about the past and worrying about the future
“If you are depressed you living in the past.
If you are anxious you are living in the future.
If you are at peace you are living in the present.” ~Tao Tzu
Try these and you may find you’re a happier and healthier person. Everyone’s main goals are to be happy and healthy and most of the time we actually have control over that! If we can achieve happiness and health based on simple, conscious life choices, why not start now?
